You can use these applications to record tutorials, group discussions and meetings or just about anything else you might want. When your video is finished, you can then upload it to YouTube or other video sites and then use it on your blog or website by simply grabbing the embed code. Simple stuff, for sure. But hey, simple is good, right?
So far, the ones I’m most anxious to try are Screenr and ScreenToast. Here’s a peek at what they’ve got going on:
Both Screenr and ScreenToaster seem capable of webinars and other tutorials, which is what I’m primarily interested in. Other applications are designed for short videos and screencasts. If that’s something you’re interested in, you might check out Jing or ScreenJelly.
I’m also partial to Screencast-o-matic just because I like their catchy name.
As if that’s not enough to get you started (not to mention be a massive time suck) here are some additional sources for you overachievers to check out:
CamStudio
FreeScreenCast
ScreenCastle
I don’t yet have a preference because I’m still experimenting, but you know I’ll let you know what I think once I have a chance to dig deeper. As an aside, here’s one thing I do know – the ones with the best looking websites were the ones that drew my attention the quickest. Note to businesses designing websites — what you look like matters.
What about you – have I left any off the list that you’re using and like? If so, let us know!
